Every step worth it in Alta Badia!
Today was our last full day walking – 8.5 miles between Frara refugio and Gardencia hut. The area was very different from the east side of the Badia valley with a expanse of layered limestone, relatively flat and with an area of small limestones pinnacles. The smell was also different and we quickly saw why as the area hosted sheep instead of cattle! Got a nose for that we do. We were also relatively alone, having gotten up early to stay cool. Sunny day in the 70’s to 80’s, some fog in the morning but we could have not asked for a better day! Here are some photos of the day –
